As always in the event that bad weather is forecasted, please watch the news channels and listen to WGIL for updates as far as school cancellations or early dismissals go. You should receive an alert on your phone from the district as well.

Our field trip is scheduled for Friday, October 24th to Tanners Orchard. Just a reminder that permission slips and money are due to school no later than Friday, October 17th. Don't forget your sack lunch unless you ordered one from the school. This is going to be a great field trip!

We've had a great two days of school! The students have been working very hard these two days on learning the classroom routine and testing. Next week our schedule will be more set with only testing on Monday. I'm really excited to introduce The Daily Five to the students on Monday. It is a literacy program that I am implementing in the classroom. I think everyone is going to love it! It's supposed to warm up next week so the students may bring a water bottle to school. I hope everyone has a restful weekend. See you Monday!

I've had a very busy summer but it has also been very enjoyable! I hope your summer has been great! My family took a mini-vacation to St. Louis. We explored the Arch, St. Louis Zoo, and a very cool children's museum called The Magic House. And of course we couldn't go to St. Louis without going to a St. Louis Cardinals game! Go CARDINALS! We have some new things happening in our class this year along with a new staff member. Feel free to comment and let me know how things have been for you! We are going to have a great year!
